Police Chiefs Association of Will County 2025 Scholarship Information 

The Police Chiefs Association of Will County will be offering up to two scholarships of five hundred dollars ($500.00) each for college students. Applications are due by May 1st of each year. To be eligible, the following criteria must be met:

  • The student must have a current G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher.
  • The student must reside in Will County or be the child or stepchild of a full-time law enforcement officer, who is employed by, or retired in good standing from, an agency within Will County.
  • The student must show proof of being accepted as a full-time student at a fully accredited college or university.

Priority for these scholarships may be given to those who demonstrate any or all the following:

  • A proven work ethic.
  • An immediate family member, who is active in or retired from a law enforcement position.
  • An interest in their community demonstrated through public service, such as volunteering in the community or active membership in civic organizations.
  • Students who have not already been granted this scholarship in the past.

To be considered for these scholarships, those interested MUST submit the following:

  • A completed application.
  • An official school transcript.
  • Proof of Residency in Will County (a copy of the applicant’s driver’s license or other government identification) or that their parent or stepparent is employed by, or retired in good standing from, an agency within Will County.
  • An essay explaining why the applicant should be the recipient of one of these scholarships. The essay should be no more than two pages long with double-spaced text.
  • Proof of being accepted as a full-time student at a fully accredited two- or four-year college or university
